So you may have noticed (or more likely didn’t notice) that I haven’t done a March give away yet… Well, with hours to spare, here it is!
Come up with a sewing or craft project that you’d like to own and post it below. It must be something that can be completed in an evening and cost around $10 (or less). I’ll pick my favorite, make it and ship it to you!
You can look through my previous projects for ideas about what I’ve made in the past. And if you know me outside of the blogosphere you probably have ideas about other things I’ve worked on but haven’t blogged about.
Oh yeah – and you have until April 17th to post a request. Good luck! I hope to get some great entries!
UPDATE: Easy stuffed toys, pillows, costume hats, simple clothing, jewelry, clothing or curtain dying, and modification projects all fit the bill. Things that don’t fit the bill are things like large woodworking projects, curtains (honestly this is depending on the type – dust ruffles are okay, panels are not okay). You can post multiple entries and I will let you know if each project fits the bill or not!
I have a couple super dorky ideas that would be fun for me. I have been playing a lot of Warhammer 40,000: Conquest and in the game there are a couple little markers that are used, one indicates who has initiative and one indicates which planet is being fought over. They are the little eagle thing and the greenish token respectively in this picture: https://alexmusingson.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/40kc4.png
I think having a couple little clay sculptures representing these pieces would be super cool. It really doesn’t need to look like the ones in the picture. I was thinking something like the platform Star Lord steals that relic from at the beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy or a scifi version of the idol from Indiana Jones. Maybe I am overthinking this. Maybe I am underthinking this!
Second idea: More generally useful might be just a generic “First Player” marker for board games. Lots of games have a marker of some kind that shows whose turn it is. It would be fun to have a little meeple beanbag or stuffed die or tiny stuffed castle tower to pass around the table!
Great comment Will. Both of these requests fit well within the criteria. Easy stuffed toys, costume hats, simple clothing, jewelry, and modification projects all fit the bill. You can post multiple entries and I will let you know if each project fits the bill or not.
Will showed me later this is what he meant for the second idea:

Okay, this sounds crazy, but we bought five small picture prints on our Greek honeymoon (one picture for each island we visited). The problem is that these pictures do not fit conventional frame sizes, plus there are no displays that incorporate exactly five pictures (all landscape orientation). We wanted to show them off above our fireplace. It wouldn’t need to be very ornate or large–just something so we can hang them up altogether. Each picture measures 7.5 inches by 3.75 inches–they also came with matting, which measures 9.25 inches by 6.1 inches. Sorry this isn’t a specific idea!
Great idea! So like a collage frame sortof thing?
Yes! We don’t have really any preferences–we have a lot of space to work with too (it’s going above the fireplace, so that’s like over 3 ft in each direction!).
We have our router and modem sitting on the bottom of the old TV stand from the summer house. Those plus all associated cords are rather unsightly. I saw this on facebook which looks pretty neat http://www.buzzfeed.com/carolineemiller/how-to-hide-your-router#.ragbYOZv8
We have also considered just putting cloth around the whole thing that would hide everything. Would that be considered curtains and therefore out?
Definitely not! What I’m talking about are panel curtains for multiple windows. (Curtains take so much longer than expected because you have to measure a billion things. This 100% fits the bill and is AWESOME. Would you want it to look like a book?
Hmm so upon further investigation, routers work way better horizontal and electronics don’t do too well in small enclosed spaces… I will get back to you on this.
WAIT! I changed my mind. You should make this

Holy cow. I just watched the whole video. That is genius. Do you really want a tiny blender? So your mice can make margaritas?
Actually our mice are on a health food binge. They want to make kale smoothies.
